India Observes 75th Quit India Day nationwide
August 9th, 2017
9 August. It is that time of the year again, when India had been the witness to Mahatma’s Quit India Movement.
It has been 74 years since the movement had caused a stir among the country and led the British to believe that their stay in this country had come to an end. India is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Quit India Movement with full fervor. Celebrations are in full swing in both the regional and national levels.
The theme to be observed this year for the celebrations is ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi’ which means attainment through resolve. The Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi has invited youth, student organisations, and NGOs to organise group discussions to bring forth new ideas.
The National Archives of India is organizing a special exhibition in New Delhi from today to mark the 75th year of Quit India Movement and Azad Hind Fauz. The two big events of the Indian history will be displayed through thousands of declassified files and documents.
All parties are also expected to express their views on the movement, with the discussion culminating into a resolution that will be passed in order to reaffirm their commitment to the nation.
