A day to create awareness about the importance of coconut across the globe is on 2nd of September every year since 2009. This day is celebrated every year by the Asian and Pacific Coconut Community (APCC). It is observed to boost the coconut industry in Asian and PAcific countries.

Indonesia is one of the world’s largest coconut producing countries and it contributes majorly in the country’s economy.
In 2017, India was the third largest coconut producer in the world. Around 11.5 million metric tons of coconut was produced!
In World War II, coconut water replaced IV! Coconut water is sterile and instances have been there during the war when it successfully replaced IV solution.
Coconut is not a NUT! It is a DRUPE!
A single mature tree can produce up to 150 coconuts in a year
