Union minister for external affairs, Sushma Swaraj has been a leading woman in the Indian political scenario.
She has helped out innumerable people who’ve reached out to her through various social channels.
Last year in August, 25-year-old resident of Karachi, Sadia, was to marry Syed Shariq Hashmi (28) of Lucknow.
It took the Union Minister’s help to get Sadia her visa and the couple were finally united in matrimony and all thanks to Sushma Swaraj!

Similarly, Naqi Ali Khan, a Lucknow resident and an engineer from Agha Mir Deodhi area near City Station, was to get married to 24-year-old Sabahat Fatima from Karachi, Pakistan.
But the couple could not tie the knot as the bride is a Pakistani citizen and could not travel to India due to visa issues.
The bride reached out to the External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj last year via Twitter and the happy couple finally had their ‘Nikah’ on Friday.
The marriage was solemnised by the vice-president of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Maulana Kalbe Sadiq.

"Our families are related but were divided when the two countries underwent partition. The groom's maternal grandmother and the bride's paternal grandmother were sisters and lived together in Lucknow before partition," said Naqi's elder brother, Muzaffar.

"Both of us are extremely grateful to Sushma Swaraj for this great gift. We are hopeful that the Indian government will help us in getting Sabahat Indian nationality as well," said the couple.
